My grandfather said it best (well at least I thought so), “This country worships whores and whoremasters!”
A society who looks up to Presidents, Celebrities and Athletes who cheat on their spouses, use drugs, commit domestic violence, abandon their families, get involved in scandals etc… Of course, some may have had some great accomplishments in their lives but are they truly hero’s? And despite their great accomplishments are these the people we want our children looking up to?
Michael Jordan is a role model and sports icon for millions of people despite his faux pas in the bedroom.
Or how about President Bill Clinton who claimed he didn’t inhale and whose zippergate scandal and blow-job was heard about worldwide. According to a Gallop Poll he is ranked fourth best President ever.
Falling right behind him in fifth place is President John F. Kennedy another one now known for his bedroom escapades.
Then we have Arnold Schwarzenegger well known actor and Previous Governor of California who had a lovechild during his lengthy marriage.
I’ve only touched on some sexual escapades but the list could go on and on. Athletes using steroids, celebrities abusing prescription drugs, singers committing Domestic Violence, record producers committing murder. You know who I’m talking about without even mentioning names.
However, the reality is we are all human. We all make mistakes. Yet, it is my opinion that people in power should be held to a higher standard and that they should expect to be held to higher standards when they enter into these positions or gain influential status.
So now back to my original question,
Hero or Whoremaster?
